Experienced Press Brake Operator - 1st Shift

Job Description: The Press Brake Operator position encompasses Production Forming, Fabrication, and Quality responsibilities.  This is not an entry-level or training position. If you do not have experience in Press Brake Setup and Operation, please do not apply.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • MUST HAVE prior experience setting up, programming, and operating a CNC press Brake. 
  • In this position you will oversee your own work and be expected to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and drawings, work orders, and production schedules to determine the required specifications for each job.
  • Able to identify and select appropriate tooling, dies, and machinery settings for each bending operation and perform equipment set-up and changeover.
  • Able to inspect completed work using simple measuring devices such as tape measures, square and protractor, and caliper.
  • Provides encouragement to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks.
  • Answers employee questions, helps with employee problems, and oversees employee’s work for quality and policy and procedure compliance paperwork.
  • Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
  • Must be able to perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to communicate clearly both written and orally.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to frequently stand, sit, twist and use their hands, fingers and wrists to grip, twist and bend to operate controls.  The employee will occasionally be required to walk, stoop, pull objects, kneel and climb stairs.  The employee will be required to occasionally reach high and low and lift items weighing 35 to 75 lbs.  Gross and fine motor skills required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The employee in this role will be working indoors, in an industrial manufacturing environment.  The employee will regularly be exposed to noise levels requiring hearing protection, moving equipment and mechanical parts. The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience: 3+ years of experience is a must
  2. Ability to read and understand blueprints
  3. Ability to setup, program, and operate a press Brake
  4. Incumbents are required to have an understanding of fabrication processes.
  5. Licensures and Certifications: High school, college, or industry courses.
  6. Education: High School diploma or equivalent
